How I Prepare Students for DSA via Music

First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge how stressful the PSLE and DSA process is for both the students and parents. For a majority of Primary students, tuition classes seem to be never-ending, all gearing up for that important examination. However, whether your child is in Primary 1 or 6, if he or she is considering using music or will be using music, fret not, Nancy Li’s Piano and Violin Music Studio is here to guide and help.

We all know that the admission requirements for secondary schools using DSA via music varies. But beyond this, from a bigger picture, I plan a multitude of opportunities and achievements for my students during their musical learning journey. This includes:

  • ABRSM Examinations (theory and practical)

  • Competitions, locally and internationally

  • Community outreach performances via collaborations with local organizations

  • Other performances tailored to each student’s capabilities

  • Music Elective Program (MEP) support

  • Help structure the student’s portfolio, prepare audition videos and practice interview questions. For schools that require Personal Statements, I will also be able to help with this aspect of the preparation.

Undoubtedly, this doesn’t happen overnight or within a few months. Successfully preparing for DSA via Music takes careful and strategic planning, while assessing each and every child’s strength. It is never too early to start planning. With Ms. Nancy’s years of teaching experience, high qualifications and the highly structured and tailored teaching, Nancy Li’s Piano and Violin Music Studio provides an all-in-one package to your child’s DSA Preparation via Music.
